On Monday, January 16th, Michigamme third graders lead the way for our Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. assembly. The assembly started with Mr. Stapleford and the entire 3rd grade singing "Martin Luther King". Next, the Student Council members from 3rd grade did a slide show informing the school of interesting facts about Dr. King. Ms. Cece Sumpter from the NAACP stressed to the students that they are responsible for their actions and it starts with them. Overall, it was a great learning experience for all!
Jump For Heart
Jump For Heart is a fundraiser for the American Heart Association. As a Michigamme Family, we are raising funds for the American Heart Association, so they can continue research and helping people nationalwide to build healthy hearts. If your child gives a $5.00 donation, they will receive a Jump For Heart lanyard and an entry spot into their classroom jump rope contest. We will be having all the participants who donated, compete with the other students in their class in a jump rope contest during their gym class on January 19th or 20th. The winners from each classroom will then advance to the school-wide jump rope contest, which will take place during our jump rope assembly in the Michigamme gym on Friday, February 3rd.
